PARISH HISTORY
St. Pio Catholic Church: A Response to Faith and Growth
The idea of establishing an outstation was first proposed by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Abella in 1999. In pursuit of this, efforts were made to acquire suitable land. After evaluating three different locations, challenges arose regarding parish boundaries involving St. Anthony, Gbaja; Our Lady of Lourdes, Orile; and St. Brigid, Ijesha.
Ultimately, the site at Jimoh Odutola was chosen. However, before the acquisition could be finalized, Rev. Fr. Abella was transferred, and Rev. Fr. Paulinus Aniedu took over as the new Parish Priest.
